Traditional media is still a large presence in marketing, but the users, especially Gen-Y, are reducing their consumption of such media. Gen-Y does not watch television on a regular basis because of the many on-demand media available online. Our focus group report also shows that Gen-Y does not pay attention to passive advertisement on social networking site either.

Social media marketing allows the company to personally interact with their customers and potentially attract the younger demographics i.e. Gen-Y. They generate a very large amount of responses and followers on their social networking sites.
